How do I unlock a domain and retrieve the authorization code for a domain? Both of these actions are performed to facilitate an outbound transfer. If you are simply hosting your website with another company, it is not necessary to transfer your domain away from your Namespro.ca account. You can simply point your domain's name servers to your host, and your domain will continue to be managed by Namespro.ca. Please refer to KB-4000 for more instructions on how to update your name server setting.
If it is your ultimate decision to transfer the domain away, you can send us a ticket via our online support system with the following information:
Action = unlocking and authorization code retrieval
Domain(s) involved =
Upon receiving your ticket, we will unlock the domain and send the authorization code to the admin contact e-mail address.
Note
Due to different registries' structure, dot-ca domains do not have a locking mechanism nor authorization codes. Instead, the CIRA registrant password is used and users can retrieve their passwords at https://registrants.cira.ca/password/forgot/en.
